• Alert: HCS will be updating its email system starting at 4 pm on Thursday, March 22. This will probably last until at least the close of business on Friday, March 23. This will also affect our Google Drive system. Students will not be able to work on Google-based assignments on Thursday evening. Also, if you try to email an HCS staff member, they will not receive the email until Saturday, March 24 at the earliest. However, they may not see it until Monday, March 26. We thank you for your patience and cooperation!

All JROTC Cadets that are not currently in a JROTC class block this trimester, but want to participate in the 25 April Awards Ceremony, you must see LTC(R) Griggs to fill out your awards form.  

Seniors, prom tickets can be purchased during lunch. Tickets are $25 for a single and $40 for a couple. Tickets must be purchased before March 30th to receive prom favors.

The library will be closed Tuesday through Friday of this week during 1st and 2nd blocks for ACT testing.  If you have books to check out or turn in, please plan appropriately. There is a book drop slot in the school’s main entrance hallway.  

ALL STUDENTS--Listen carefully.  The Hardin County Schools email system will transition from Microsoft Outlook to Google Mail on Friday.  All files that are saved in OneDrive will be cleared, all deleted emails and email drafts in your school email will be lost.  Emails in your inbox WILL transfer. YOUR HCS STUDENT EMAIL ADDRESS WILL NOT CHANGE.  Instructions concerning the NEW email system will be announced on Monday and will be posted on the JHHS webpage.

The Freshman Class will be volunteering at Feeding America on March 26th from 4-5. If you are interested in going, please sign up on the sheet outside of Ms. Miller’s room 201.

Prom season is approaching!  If you are a student going to prom,  pay attention! The yearbook staff wants pictures of you preparing for prom:  dress shopping, shoe shopping, jewelry shopping, tuxedo shopping --or simply browsing a magazine or the internet for ideas. Please submit your photos to ReplayIt or email them to Mrs. Pleasant or Desiree Felix.

Are you planning a Promposal and want the moment to be captured?  Stop by Mrs. Pleasant’s room (225) and let her know. A yearbook photographer will be assigned to capture the surprised moment.  Or, you can upload your photos to ReplayIt. Be advised there is limited space in the yearbook.


Attention sophomores, juniors and seniors:

The ASVAB will be given April, 18th in the Library. Anyone interested in taking this test please sign up in the guidance office with Ms. Harden. The deadline to sign up for this test is April 17th.

Hardin Memorial Junior/Teen Volunteer Program-Any students from ages 14-20 interested in volunteering at Hardin Memorial Hospital for the Junior/Teen Volunteer Program will need  to come to the guidance office for an application packet. The deadline to apply for this program is May 10th.

 Attention Juniors…..The University of Kentucky will be at John Hardin on Thursday March 22nd for a small group meeting If you are interested in attending this meeting you must sign up in the guidance office.

JANES Realty Group is offering a $1,500 Scholarship for high school juniors and seniors. More information is located in the guidance office. Deadline to apply is April 9.

Louisville Bar Association is hosting a Summer Law Institute seven day residential program for high school students interested in the law and the legal profession. For more information about this program and for the application see Ms.Harden in the guidance office. The deadline to apply is April 11.

Seniors, if you need help with scholarships, Mrs. Field and Mrs. Feiler will be staying after school on Thursdays to help in room 217.


Softball is doing a Bulldog fan wear fundraiser through March 29. All softball players have the brochure, order forms and online info.
