JHHS Archery

2017-2018 Season

Every student must have an up-to-date KHSAA Physical before they can participate in the high school archery program.   

We need volunteers for the archery program to be successful.  You will need to fill out a volunteer application on the Hardin County Schools - Volunteer for a School or Classroom web page.  Start on the link to the left called - I am a new applicant

Remind.com is one the means that we use to keep archers and parents informed about the archery program.

  • The High School Team will be practicing Monday and Friday at 0645, and on Wednesday night from 1930 to 2030.‚Äč
  • The Middle School Team will be practicing Tuesday and Thursday at 0645, and on Wednesday night from 1800 to 1930.
  • All of the matches or tournaments are normally held on Saturday's.  There are a few times we could shoot on Friday evening.
  • You will need to purchase your own bow.  The only bow allowed to be used by KHSAA and NASP is the Matthew "Genesis Originial" Compound Bow. 

We will be conducting two archery summer camps.  The first camp will run from 11 to 15 June, 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, at Bluegrass Middle School.  The second camp will run from 16 to 20 July, 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at John Hardin High School. The cost for the camp is $15 per archer.  This will include a camp shirt, basic archery instruction, eye dominance, 11-steps of successful archery, history of archery and live range shooting at bullseye and 3D targets.  All equipment will be provided.  If an archer has a “Genesis Original” bow they can use their own bow.  The archers will receive a bag lunch every day of the camp.   If you have any questions please contact Mike Moritz by email or phone 270-723-4410.
